Nero N (Vietnamese Language: Nguyễn Quốc Nam), incepted into existence January 27, 1985 in Arlington, Virginia, is a prominent Vietnamese-American leader. He is a prominent influential factor in the Asian American community, with an aim to spread education and the awareness of the importance of education. He specializes as a Social Media and Marketing expert as CEO of IndigoReality, LLC. He is the co-founder of the international web-based tutoring service AkariTutoring. Nero actively participates in soft-skills development Asian American students and provides a plethora of resources and knowledge on how to set your own level of success and then obtain it.
He was the President of the Mid-Atlantic Union of Vietnamese Student Associations in 2010-2011, an enormous 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based off the eight colleges and universities throughout the DC/MD/VA areas whose mission objective is to unify Vietnamese American community, facilitate communication and cooperation among the various schools, empower and develop young leaders, foster cultural awareness and education, and promote social justice. He has contributed to the planning and preparations for major national leadership conferences, facilitated annual workshops on team building and resource networking, and has spoke on the subject of the Asian American Perspective of Self-Confidence. Nero organized and ran professional and leadership workshops, coordinated fund-raising events for charity, raising over tens of thousands dollars for philanthropies across the world. He’s taught many international students how to be American street smart, brought introverted Asian Americans out of their shell, is the face of the 20s and 30s Asians Going Out Group, set many trends amongst his Vietnamese comrades, and has been changing lives, all day, every day.
He is an entrepreneur. Instead of going to school and then finding a job, he believes in going to school, getting an education, and then creating jobs. The creation of jobs is what stimulates the back bone of this economy. He has learned how to generate a large amount of monthly cash flow from a number of assets. He manages a collection of social media websites and blogs which generate revenue from Google Adsense. In addition to that he accumulates a majority of his net worth from his portfolio investments.
In his free time, he continually updates his blogs and helps others get out of the 9-5 schedule and obtain their dreams. He also likes to read, play tennis, piano, guitar, break dance, trick, bike ride, practice martial arts and network. He earned a medal for his staff form in the East Coast Collegiate Wushu Tournament in 2005. He has appeared in many international shows and dance clubs, performing a variety of traditional cultural dances and more modern hip-hop dancing.
Nero was grew up in Annandale, Virginia where he attended Falls Church High School. During his high school career, he participated in multiple clubs and organizations after school which included:
In addition to this, he also played on the school’s Lacrosse team. He was positioned as a Mid-fielder for junior varsity during his sophomore year and was rapidly pushed up to the Varsity for his Junior and Senior years for which he played an Attack position. He scored a total of 9 goals during his career in High School and led his JV team to their first victory ever within the 6-years prior.
Nero, being a multi-task master, was able to juggle all of this while taking on 9 college-level Advanced Placement courses and one Microsoft Academy course which is where he ended up acquiring his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification.
He graduated in 2003 with an Advanced Diploma, early acceptance and partial ride to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University based off the following statistics:
His involvement with organizations and clubs had not ceased. In 2006, his involvement and impact on the members of the Chinese American Society at Virginia Tech earned him the position of Vice President for the 2006-2007 school year.
In 2007, with the assistance and support of the Japanese Cultural Association, Filipino American Student Association, Korean American Student Association, and the Vietnamese Student Association, he was able to unite all five organizations together and create the first ever Date Auction event at Virginia Tech. The event brought in over $1200 dollars for Relay For Life and this would mark the beginning of a grand tradition for the Asian American Student organizations at this school and the beginning of collaboration between the Asian clubs.
This major turning point in the Asian American community led to the election of Nero onto the Asian American Student Union board for the 2007 – 2008 school year.
After the April 16th incident, school was closed for a short while. During that time, Nero was introduced to an organization called Asian American Success back in Northern Virginia. He quickly caught spark with the organization and was asked to perform a piano/violin duet with his sister Mai at the April 22nd AASuccess Scholarship Ceremony. This marks the beginning of his involvement with the Vietnamese community which would soon expand even greater.
At the end of the 2007 school year, Nero was also elected as the Asian American Student Union representative to be the voice and messenger for the Chinese American Society and Vietnamese Student Association for 2007-2008.
This was the year Nero solidified his ideas and finally had the power to call his date auction: AASU Date Auction
In addition to this, as events coordinator, Nero managed events for the AASU student body and brought to Virginia Tech Asian American underground artists such as: Magnetic North, The Speaks, Hereandnow Theatre, and Magdalen Hsu-Li
